Thanks to all of you who have been so supportive these last few weeks. We apologize for the “drop off” in information. I’m sure you can imagine that we have experienced a bit of a crash since Jim died and have been doing our best to take it easy.
Because of the many varied lives Jim had lived and the vast number of people he has touched, we have decided to have several memorials for him in those special locations over the year. In the interest of creating some intimacy for his family, the initial memorial will be in Boston on May 3rd for immediate family and friends. We plan to be in Chicago in late summer (Septmember?) and Miami in the early winter. If you would like to join us for these, please let us know so we can include you in the plans.
Beacon Hospice, who Jim devoted so much of the last years of his life to, has established a fund in Jim’s name to support work being done towards demensia patients. In liue of flowers, please consider making a donation here:
The James P. Haggerty Fund, The Lighthouse Hospice Foundation, Inc. 529 Main Street, Suite 101, Charlestown, MA 02129
If you’d like to send a card, our address in Boston: 145 Pinckney St. #634, Boston, MA 02114

Nancy, Betsy and John,
I am happy for Jim that he is in an even happier place today, although he made this place on earth a wonderland while he was here. I am sure he is at peace and watching over all of us and smiling upon us. I wonder if he knew just how many peoples lives he touched in such a beautiful and positive way.
It was wonderful to see you Nancy and Betsy at Beacon’s memorial for Jim. You are all in my thoughts and prayers and I hope to see you on the 3rd.
Jim is always close to hearts and minds so he has not traveled far from us and someday when we take that walk alone to go to heavan I am sure he will be there with bells on to welcome all of us.
My very deepest condolences are being sent your way.
Love and Friendship
Barb

Hello Haggerty’s,
As I’ve said before, I still check the site daily.
What a lovely idea to have multiple memorial sites..I actually think of it more as different places to celebrate Jim’s life. I’m sure everyone will have many wonderful stories to share.
MY youngest son has been in Jim’s company twice..most memorable Charlie’s wedding, Jim walking around with a napkin tied to his head, and both.. Mommy’s party on Cape Cod…I don’t know how much conversation they shared but when I described him and asked if they remembered him they immediately answered yes. They both said the same thing..He was such a nice guy, his family must feel lost without him……..
What a time for me to move away from Florida…I will think of you on all occasions and look forward to hearing how you are all progressing.
Love,
Carol

Betsy, John and Nancy, I would really love to attend a memorial for Jim in Miami and I know there are several others who would like that too. Take care of each other and know that we are thinking of you all.

Just wanted you to know I’m thinking about you. I was just looking at the family picture from Mommy’s party last Sept. Memories are wonderful. Hope you are all doing well. xoxo

During the aftermath of Tim Russert’s death I thought again of Jim..Another Irish Catholic. Listening to Tim’s friends, collegues and family telling so many warm and loving stories brought back all the wonderful comments left about Jim. So for the last hour I have been rereading them. This was after watching all the videos I saved of Tim Russert’s Memorial service and follow up programs. I didn’t know him but felt like I did and was very saddened by his, also, untimely death. God sure has 2 great guys up there. I like to think of them conversing. I think they would truly enjoy each others company. It’s a very happy thought.
Love,
Carol
